นีวรณญฺเจวนีวรณิยญฺจ ธมฺมํ ปฏิจฺจ นีวรโณเจวนีวรณิโยจ ธมฺโม อุปฺปชฺชติ เหตุปจฺจยา: กามจฺฉนฺทนีวรณํ ปฏิจฺจ ถีนมิทฺธนีวรณํ อุทฺธจฺจนีวรณํ อวิชฺชานีวรณํ ฯ เอวํ สพฺเพ คณนา วิภชิตพฺพา ฯ นีวรณทุกสทิสา นินฺนานากรณา ฯ
ธรรมที่เป็นทั้งนีวรณธรรมและนีวรณียธรรม อาศัยธรรมที่เป็น ทั้งนีวรณธรรมและนีวรณียธรรม เกิดขึ้น เพราะเหตุปัจจัย คือ ถีนมิทธนิวรณ์ อุทธัจจนิวรณ์ อวิชชานิวรณ์ อาศัย กามฉันทนิวรณ์ การนับทั้งหมดพึงกระทำอย่างนี้ เหมือนกับ นีวรณทุกะ ไม่มีแตกต่างกัน
สภาวธรรมที่เป็นนิวรณ์และเป็นอารมณ์ของนิวรณ์อาศัยสภาวธรรมที่เป็นนิวรณ์และเป็นอารมณ์ของนิวรณ์เกิดขึ้นเพราะเหตุปัจจัย ได้แก่ ถีนมิทธนิวรณ์อุทธัจจนิวรณ์ และอวิชชานิวรณ์อาศัยกามฉันทนิวรณ์เกิดขึ้น (พึงจำแนกคณนาทั้งหมดอย่างนี้ เหมือนกับนีวรณทุกะ ไม่มีข้อแตกต่างกัน)
