โย เว ธมฺมทฺธชํ กตฺวา นิคุโยฺห ปาปมาจเร วิสฺสาสยิตฺวา ภูตานิ พิฬารนฺนาม ตํ วตนฺติ ฯ มูสิกชาตกํ อฏฺฐมํ ฯ ---------
ผู้ใดแลทำธรรมให้เป็นธง แต่ซ่อนความประพฤติไม่ดีไว้ล่อผู้อื่นให้ ตายใจ ความประพฤติของผู้นั้นชื่อว่า เป็นความประพฤติของแมว. จบ มูสิกชาดกที่ ๘.
ผู้ใดกล่าวเชิดชูธรรมให้เป็นธงชัย ล่อลวงให้เหล่าสัตว์ตายใจแล้วซ่อนตนประพฤติชั่ว ความประพฤติของผู้นั้นชื่อว่าเป็นความประพฤติของแมว พิฬารวตชาดกที่ ๘ จบ
