เหตุปจฺจโยติ เหตุ เหตุสมฺปยุตฺตกานํ ธมฺมานํ ตํสมุฏฺฐานานญฺจ รูปานํ เหตุปจฺจเยน ปจฺจโยติ ฯ
เหตุปัจจัย คือ เหตุ เป็นปัจจัย แก่ธรรมอันสัมปยุตด้วยเหตุและรูป ซึ่งมีธรรมอันสัมปยุตด้วยเหตุนั้นเป็นสมุฏฐาน โดยเหตุปัจจัย
เหตุปัจจัย ได้แก่ เหตุ เป็นปัจจัยแก่สภาวธรรมที่สัมปยุตด้วยเหตุและ รูปที่มีธรรมอันสัมปยุตด้วยเหตุนั้นเป็นสมุฏฐานโดยเหตุปัจจัย
