เกนสฺสุ ปิหิโต โลโก กิสฺมึ โลโก ปติฏฺฐิโต เกนสฺสุ อุฑฺฑิโต โลโก เกนสฺสุ ปริวาริโตติ ฯ
เทวดาทูลถามว่า โลกอันอะไรหนอปิดไว้ โลกตั้งอยู่แล้วในอะไร โลกอัน อะไรหนอดักไว้ อันอะไรหนอล้อมไว้ ฯ
เทวดาทูลถามว่า โลกถูกอะไรเล่าปิดไว้ ตั้งอยู่ในอะไรเล่า ถูกอะไรเล่าดักไว้ ถูกอะไรเล่าล้อมไว้ พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสตอบว่า โลกถูกมัจจุปิดไว้ ตั้งอยู่ในความทุกข์ ถูกตัณหาดักไว้ ถูกชราล้อมไว้ ปิหิตสูตรที่ ๘ จบ
