เกนสฺสุ พชฺฌติ โลโก กิสฺส วินยาย มุจฺจติ กิสฺสสฺส วิปฺปหาเนน สพฺพํ ฉินฺทติ พนฺธนนฺติ ฯ
เทวดาทูลถามว่า โลกอันอะไรผูกไว้ เพราะกำจัดอะไรเสียจึงจะหลุดพ้น เพราะละอะไรได้ขาด จึงตัดเครื่องผูกได้ทุกอย่าง ฯ
เทวดาทูลถามว่า โลกถูกอะไรเล่าผูกไว้ เพราะกำจัดอะไรออกไป จึงพ้นได้ เพราะละอะไรได้เล่า จึงตัดเครื่องผูกได้ทั้งหมด พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสตอบว่า โลกถูกความอยากผูกไว้ เพราะกำจัดความอยากออกไป จึงพ้นได้ เพราะละความอยาก จึงตัดเครื่องผูกได้ทั้งหมดอิจฉาสูตรที่ ๙ จบ
