สาวตฺถี ฯ กิสฺมึ นุ โข ภิกฺขเว สติ กึ อุปาทาย กึ อภินิวิสฺส เอวํ ทิฏฺฐิ อุปฺปชฺชติ อนนฺตวา โลโกติ ฯ ภควํมูลกา โน ภนฺเต ธมฺมา ฯเปฯ นิยโต สมฺโพธิปรายโนติ ฯ
พระนครสาวัตถี. พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสถามว่า ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เมื่ออะไรมีอยู่ เพราะถือมั่นอะไร เพราะยึดมั่นอะไร จึงเกิดทิฏฐิขึ้นอย่างนี้ว่า โลกไม่มีที่สุด? ภิกษุทั้งหลายกราบทูลว่า ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ ธรรมของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย มีพระผู้มีพระภาคเป็นรากฐาน ฯลฯ เป็นผู้เที่ยงที่ได้ตรัสรู้ในเบื้องหน้า. จบ สูตรที่ ๑๒.
เรื่องเกิดขึ้นที่กรุงสาวัตถี พระผู้มีพระภาคได้ตรัสถามว่า “ภิกษุทั้งหลาย เมื่อมีอะไร เพราะถือมั่นอะไรเพราะยึดมั่นอะไร ทิฏฐิอย่างนี้จึงเกิดขึ้นว่า ‘โลกไม่มีที่สุด”
