มารเสนปฺปมทฺทนํ โว ภิกฺขเว มคฺคํ เทสิสฺสามิ ตํ สุณาถ ฯ กตโม จ ภิกฺขเว มารเสนปฺปมทฺทโน มคฺโค ฯ ยทิทํ สตฺต โพชฺฌงฺคา ฯ กตเม สตฺต ฯ สติสมฺโพชฺฌงฺโค ฯเปฯ อุเปกฺขาสมฺโพชฺฌงฺโค ฯ อยํ ภิกฺขเว มารเสนปฺปมทฺทโน มคฺโคติ ฯ
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เราจักแสดงมรรคาเป็นเครื่องย่ำยีมารและเสนามารแก่เธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงฟังมรรคานั้น ก็มรรคาเป็นเครื่องย่ำยีมารและเสนามารเป็นไฉน? คือโพชฌงค์ ๗ โพชฌงค์ ๗ เป็นไฉน? คือ สติสัมโพชฌงค์ ฯลฯ อุเบกขาสัมโพชฌงค์ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เป็นมรรคาเครื่องย่ำยีมาร และเสนามาร. จบ สูตรที่ ๓
“ภิกษุทั้งหลาย เราจักแสดงทางสำหรับย่ำยีมารและกองทัพมารแก่ เธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงฟัง ทางสำหรับย่ำยีมารและกองทัพมาร เป็นอย่างไร คือ โพชฌงค์ ๗ ประการ โพชฌงค์ ๗ ประการ อะไรบ้าง คือ ๑. สติสัมโพชฌงค์ ฯลฯ ๗. อุเบกขาสัมโพชฌงค์ ภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้แล คือทางสำหรับย่ำยีมารและกองทัพมาร” มารสูตรที่ ๓ จบ
