อานาปานสฺสติสมาธิ ภิกฺขเว ภาวิโต พหุลีกโต อนุสยสมุคฺฆาตาย สํวตฺตติ ฯ (วิตฺถาเรตพฺพํ) ฯ เอวํ ภาวิโต โข ภิกฺขเว อานาปานสฺสติสมาธิ เอวํ พหุลีกโต อนุสยสมุคฺฆาตาย สํวตฺตตีติ ฯ
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย สมาธิอันสัมปยุตด้วยอานาปานสติ อันภิกษุเจริญแล้วกระทำให้มากแล้ว ย่อมเป็นไปเพื่อถอนอนุสัย ฯลฯ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย สมาธิอันสัมปยุตด้วยอานาปานสติ อันภิกษุเจริญแล้ว กระทำให้มากแล้วอย่างนี้ ย่อมเป็นไปเพื่อถอนอนุสัย. จบ สูตรที่ ๘
“ภิกษุทั้งหลาย อานาปานสติสมาธิที่ภิกษุเจริญ ทำให้มากแล้วย่อมเป็นไปเพื่อถอนอนุสัย (พึงเพิ่มข้อความที่เหลือให้พิสดาร) อานาปานสติสมาธิที่ภิกษุเจริญอย่างนี้แล ทำให้มากแล้วอย่างนี้ จึงเป็นไปเพื่อถอนอนุสัย” อนุสยสมุคฆาตสูตรที่ ๘ จบ
