๑๓๖ ตีหิ ภิกฺขเว องฺเคหิ สมนฺนาคโต มิตฺโต เสวิตพฺโพ กตเมหิ ตีหิ ทุทฺททํ ททาติ ทุกฺกรํ กโรติ ทุกฺขมํ ขมติ อิเมหิ โข ภิกฺขเว ตีหิ องฺเคหิ สมนฺนาคโต มิตฺโต เสวิตพฺโพติ ฯ
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย มิตรผู้ประกอบด้วยองค์ ๓ ควรคบไว้ องค์ ๓ เป็นไฉน คือ ให้สิ่งที่ให้ได้ยาก ๑ ช่วยทำสิ่งที่ทำได้ยาก ๑ อดทนสิ่งที่ทนได้ยาก ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย มิตรผู้ประกอบด้วยองค์ ๓ นี้แล ควรคบไว้ ฯ
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย มิตรผู้ประกอบด้วยองค์ ๓ ประการควรคบหาได้ องค์ ๓ ประการ อะไรบ้าง คือ ๑. ให้สิ่งที่ให้ได้ยาก ๒. ช่วยทำสิ่งที่ทำได้ยาก ๓. อดทนต่อสิ่งที่ทนได้ยาก ภิกษุทั้งหลาย มิตรผู้ประกอบด้วยองค์ ๓ ประการนี้แลควรคบหาได้มิตตสูตรที่ ๓ จบ
