๑๔. โภคสังหรเปตวัตถุ เรื่องเปรตรวบรวมโภคะ (เวลากลางคืน หญิงเปรต ๔ ตน ถูกทุกข์ครอบงำ จึงพากันร้องไห้รำพึงรำพัน ด้วยเสียงดังอย่างน่ากลัวว่า)

พวกเรารวบรวมโภคทรัพย์ไว้โดยชอบธรรมบ้าง โดยไม่ชอบธรรมบ้าง แต่คนอื่นๆ พากันใช้สอยธรรมเหล่านั้น ส่วนพวกเรากลับมีส่วน แห่งทุกข์. จบ โภคสังหรเปตวัตถุที่ ๑๔.
พวกเรารวบรวมโภคทรัพย์ไว้โดยชอบธรรมบ้าง ไม่ชอบธรรมบ้าง แต่คนอื่นๆ พากันใช้สอยโภคทรัพย์เหล่านั้น พวกเรากลับได้รับทุกข์ โภคสังหรเปตวัตถุที่ ๑๔ จบ @เชิงอรรถ : @ คือ สุขในภพนี้และภพหน้า ซึ่งเป็นประโยชน์เกื้อกูลทั้งแก่ตนเองและผู้อื่น (ขุ.เป.อ. ๘๐๐/๒๙๘)@ เหตุที่เปรตเหล่านั้นได้รับทุกข์ เพราะรวบรวมโภคะไว้มากโดยทางทุจริต แล้วไม่นำไปทำประโยชน์แก่@ใคร ตายไปแล้วมาเกิดเป็นเปรต ร้องโหยหวน เสียดายทรัพย์เมื่อเห็นผู้อื่นใช้สอยทรัพย์ของตน@(ขุ.เป.อ. ๘๐๑/๓๐๐)
