๒. จิตตกเถรคาถา ภาษิตของพระจิตตกเถระ ทราบว่า ท่านพระจิตตกเถระได้กล่าวคาถาไว้ดังนี้ว่า
|๑๕๙.๒๒| ๒ นีลา สุคีวา สิขิโน โมรา การวิยํ อภินทนฺติ เต สีตวาตกลิตา สุตฺตํ ฌานํ นิโพเธนฺตีติ จิตฺตโก เถโร ฯ
นางนกยูงทั้งหลายมีขนเขียว ขนคองาม หงอนงาม พากันร่ำร้อง อยู่ในป่าการวี นางนกยูงเหล่านั้นพากันร่ำร้องในเวลามีลมหนาวเจือ ด้วยฝน ย่อมปลุกบุคคลผู้เจริญฌานซึ่งหลับอยู่ให้ตื่น.
นกยูงทั้งหลาย มีขนคอเขียวงดงาม มีหงอนสวย ร้องเซ็งแซ่อยู่ในป่าการวี นกยูงเหล่านั้นพากันร้องเซ็งแซ่ในยามมีลมหนาวเจือฝน ย่อมกระตุ้นเตือนผู้เจริญฌานซึ่งหลับอยู่ให้ตื่นขึ้น
