๘. ควัมปติเถรคาถา ภาษิตของพระควัมปติเถระ ทราบว่า พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสสรรเสริญพระควัมปติเถระด้วยพระคาถาดังนี้ว่า
|๑๓๕.๓๘| ๘ โย อิทฺธิยา สรภุํ อฏฺฐเปสิ ควมฺปติ โส อสิโต อเนโช ตํ สพฺพสงฺคาติคตํ มหามุนึ เทวา นมสฺสนฺติ ภวสฺส ปารคุนฺติ ฯ ควมฺปติ เถโร ฯ
เทวดาและมนุษย์ทั้งหลาย พากันนอบน้อมพระควัมปติ ผู้ห้ามแม่ น้ำสรภูให้หยุดไหลได้ด้วยฤทธิ์ ไม่ติดอยู่ในกิเลสและตัณหาไรๆ ไม่หวั่นไหวต่อสิ่งอะไรทั้งสิ้น เป็นผู้ผ่านพ้นเครื่องข้องทั้งปวง เป็น มหามุนี ผู้ถึงฝั่งแห่งภพ.
เทวดาทั้งหลายพากันนอบน้อมพระควัมปติ ผู้ห้ามแม่น้ำสรภูให้หยุดไหลได้ด้วยฤทธิ์ ไม่ติดอยู่ในกิเลสและตัณหาไรๆ ไม่หวั่นไหวต่อสิ่งอะไรทั้งสิ้น ข้ามกิเลสเครื่องข้องทั้งหมดเสียได้ เป็นมหามุนี ผู้บรรลุนิพพานแล้ว
