๖. กุฏิวิหารีเถรคาถา ภาษิตของพระกุฏิวิหารีเถระ ทราบว่า คนเฝ้านาและพระกุฎีวิหารีเถระสนทนากันว่าดังนี้
|๑๙๓.๕๖| ๖ โก กุฏิกายํ ภิกฺขุ กุฏิกายํ วีตราโค สุสมาหิตจิตฺโต ฯ เอวํ ชานาหิ อาวุโส อโมฆา เต กุฏิกา กตาติ ฯ กุฏิวิหารี เถโร ฯ
ใครนั่งอยู่ในกุฎี ภิกษุผู้ปราศจากราคะ มีจิตตั้งมั่น อยู่ในกุฎี ขอท่าน จงรู้อย่างนี้เถิดอาวุโส กุฎีที่ท่านทำไว้แล้ว ไม่ไร้ประโยชน์เลย.
(คนเฝ้านาถามว่า) ใครเล่านั่งอยู่ในกระท่อม พระกุฏิวิหารีเถระ(ตอบว่า) ภิกษุผู้ปราศจากราคะ มีจิตมั่นคงดีแล้ว อยู่ในกระท่อม เข้าใจอย่างนี้เถิดโยม กระท่อมที่ท่านสร้างไว้แล้ว ไม่เปล่าประโยชน์เลย
