๒. เสตุจฉเถรคาถา ภาษิตของพระเสตุจฉเถระ ทราบว่า ท่านพระเสตุจฉเถระได้กล่าวคาถาไว้ดังนี้ว่า
|๒๓๙.๑๐๒| ๒ มาเนน วญฺจิตาเส สงฺขาเรสุ สงฺกิลิสฺสมานาเส ลาภาลาเภน มถิตา สมาธึ นาธิคจฺฉนฺตีติ ฯ เสตุจฺโฉ เถโร ฯ
ชนทั้งหลายถูกมานะหลอกลวงแล้ว เศร้าหมองอยู่ในสังขารทั้งหลาย ถูกความมีลาภและความเสื่อมลาภย่ำยีแล้ว ย่อมไม่ได้บรรลุสมาธิเลย.
ชนทั้งหลายที่ยังถูกมานะหลอกลวง เศร้าหมองในสังขารทั้งหลาย ถูกลาภและความเสื่อมลาภครอบงำได้ ย่อมบรรลุสมาธิไม่ได้
