ดูกรพังพอน ท่านได้ทำมิตรภาพกับงูผู้เป็นศัตรูแล้ว ไฉนจึงยังนอน แยกเขี้ยวอยู่อีกเล่า ภัยที่ไหนจะมาถึงแก่ท่านอีก?

บุคคลพึงระแวงในศัตรูไว้ แม้ในมิตรก็ไม่ควรวางใจ ภัยเกิดขึ้นแล้ว จากมิตร ย่อมตัดมูลรากทั้งหลายเสีย. จบ นกุลชาดกที่ ๕.
