เนตํ สีหสฺส นทิตํ น พยคฺฆสฺส น ทีปิโน ปารุโต สีหจมฺเมน ชมฺโม นทติ คทฺรโภ ฯ
นี่ไม่ใช่เสียงบันลือของราชสีห์ ไม่ใช่เสียงบันลือของเสือโคร่ง ไม่ ใช่เสียงบันลือของเสือเหลือง ลาผู้ลามกคลุมตัวด้วยหนังราชสีห์บัน ลือเสียง.
นั่นไม่ใช่เสียงบันลือของราชสีห์ ไม่ใช่เสียงของเสือโคร่ง ไม่ใช่เสียงของเสือเหลือง ลาชั่วช้าคลุมตัวด้วยหนังราชสีห์ร้องอยู่ (พ่อค้ามาเห็นลาถึงความบอบช้ำ จึงกล่าวคาถาที่ ๒ ว่า)

ลาเอาหนังราชสีห์คลุมตัว เที่ยวกินข้าวกล้านานมาแล้ว ร้องให้เขารู้ ว่า เป็นตัวลา ได้ประทุษร้ายตนเองแล้ว. จบ สีหจัมมชาดกที่ ๙.
ลาเอาหนังราชสีห์คลุมตัว เคี้ยวกินข้าวเหนียวอันเขียวสดเป็นเวลานาน มันร้องออกมานั้นแหละ จึงทำร้ายตัวเอง สีหจัมมชาดกที่ ๙ จบ
