ปพฺพตูปตฺถเร รมฺเม ชาตา โปกฺขรณี สิวา ตํ สิคาโล อปาปาสิ ชานํ สีเหน รกฺขิตํ ฯ
สระโบกขรณีอันเกษม เกิดอยู่ที่เชิงเขาลาด น่ารื่นรมย์ สุนัขจิ้งจอกรู้ว่า สระนั้นอันราชสีห์รักษาอยู่ กล้าลงไปดื่มน้ำได้.
ปิวนฺติ เจ มหาราช สาปทานิ มหานทึ น เตน อนที โหติ ขมสฺสุ ยทิ เต ปิยาติ ฯ ปพฺพตูปตฺถรชาตกํ ปญฺจมํ ฯ ---------
ข้าแต่มหาราชะ ถ้าสัตว์ทั้งหลายที่มีเท้า ย่อมพากันดื่มน้ำในแม่น้ำใหญ่ ไซร้ แม่น้ำจะกลายเป็นไม่ใช่แม่น้ำเพราะเหตุนั้นก็หาไม่ ถ้าบุคคลทั้ง สองนั้น เป็นที่รักของพระองค์ไซร้ พระองค์ก็ทรงงดโทษเสีย. จบ ปัพพตูปัตถรชาดกที่ ๕.
