ปาณิ เจ มุทุโก จสฺส นาโค จสฺส สุการิโต อนฺธกาโร จ วสฺเสยฺย อถ นูน ตทา สิยา ฯ
ถ้าคนใช้ของท่านพึงมีฝ่ามืออ่อน ๑ ช้างของท่านฝึกดีแล้ว ๑ เวลามืด ๑ ฝนตก ๑ จะพึงมี ในกาลใด ความปรารถนาของท่านก็จะสมประสงค์ ในกาลนั้นเป็นแน่.
อนลา มุทุสมฺภาสา ทุปฺปูรา ตา นทีสมา สีทนฺติ นํ วิทิตฺวาน อารกา ปริวชฺชเย ฯ
หญิงทั้งหลาย บุรุษไม่สามารถจะปกปักรักษาไว้ได้ด้วยถ้อยคำอันอ่อน หวาน ยากที่จะให้เต็มได้ เสมอด้วยแม่น้ำ ฉะนั้น ย่อมจะจมลงใน นรก บัณฑิตรู้ชัดอย่างนี้แล้ว พึงหลีกเว้นเสียให้ห่างไกล.
ยํ เอตา อุปเสวนฺติ ฉนฺทสา วา ธเนน วา ชาตเวโทว สณฺฐานํ ขิปฺปํ อนุทหนฺติ นนฺติ ฯ มุทุปาณิชาตกํ ทุติยํ ฯ
หญิงเหล่านั้น ย่อมเข้าไปคบหาบุรุษใด เพราะความรักใคร่ พอใจ หรือ เพราะทรัพย์ เขาย่อมเผาบุรุษนั้นเสียฉับพลัน เปรียบเหมือนไฟไหม้ที่ ของตนเอง ฉะนั้น. จบ มุทุปาณิชาดกที่ ๒.

หญิงเหล่านั้นคบหาชายใด ด้วยความพอใจหรือด้วยทรัพย์ก็ตาม ย่อมตามเผาผลาญชายนั้นทันที เหมือนไฟป่าเผาผลาญพื้นที่ของตนมุทุปาณิชาดกที่ ๒ จบ
