กิมตฺถมภิสนฺธาย ลหุจิตฺตสฺส ทุพฺภิโน สพฺพกามทุหสฺเสว อิมํ ทุกฺขํ ติติกฺขสิ ฯ
ท่านอาศัยเหตุอะไรจึงอดกลั้นทุกข์นี้ ต่อลิงผู้มีจิตกลับกลอก มักประทุษ- ร้ายมิตร ดุจเป็นเจ้าของผู้ให้ความใคร่ทั้งปวง.
สิงฺเคน นีหราเสตํ ปทสาว อธิฏฺฐห ภิยฺโย พาลา ปกุฏฺเฏยฺยุํ โน จสฺส ปฏิเสธโก ฯ
ท่านจงขวิดมันเสีย (ด้วยเขา) จงเหยียบเสีย (ด้วยเท้า) ถ้าไม่ห้าม ปรามมันเสีย สัตว์ทั้งหลายที่โง่เขลา ก็จะพึงเบียดเบียนร่ำไป.
มเมวายํ มญฺญมาโน อญฺญํเปวํ กริสฺสติ เต นํ ตตฺถ วธิสฺสนฺติ สา เม มุตฺติ ภวิสฺสตีติ ฯ มหิสชาตกํ อฏฺฐมํ ฯ ---------
เมื่อลิงตัวนี้ ดูหมิ่นควายตัวอื่น ดุจดูหมิ่นข้าพเจ้า จักกระทำอนาจาร อย่างนี้แก่ควายตัวอื่น ควายเหล่านั้น ก็จะฆ่ามันเสียในที่นั้น ความพ้น อันนั้นจักมีแก่ข้าพเจ้า. จบ มหิสชาดกที่ ๘.
