โก นฺวายํ โลณโตยสฺมึ สมนฺตา ปริธาวติ มจฺเฉ มกเร จ วาเรติ อูมีสุ จ วิหญฺญติ ฯ
ใครนี้หนอ มาเที่ยววนเวียนอยู่ในน้ำทะเลอันเค็ม ย่อมห้ามปลา และ มังกรทั้งหลาย และย่อมเดือดร้อนในกระแสน้ำที่มีคลื่น?
อนนฺตปายี สกุโณ อติตฺโตติ ทิสา สุโต สมุทฺทํ ปาตุมิจฺฉามิ สาครํ สริตปฺปตึ ฯ
ข้าพเจ้าเป็นนกชื่อว่า อนันตปายี ปรากฏไปทั่วทิศว่า เป็นผู้ไม่อิ่ม เรา ปรารถนาจะดื่มน้ำ ในมหาสมุทรสาครใหญ่กว่าแม่น้ำทั้งหลาย.
โสยํ หายตี เจว ปูรเตว มโหทธิ นาสฺส นายติ ปีตนฺโต อเปยฺโย กิร สาคโรติ ฯ สมุทฺทชาตกํ ฉฏฺฐํ ฯ ---------
สมุทรสาครนี้พร่องก็ดี เต็มเปี่ยมอยู่ก็ดี ใครๆ จะดื่มน้ำในสมุทรสาคร นั้น ก็หาพร่องไปไม่ ได้ยินมาว่า สาครอันใครๆ ไม่อาจจะดื่มกิน ให้หมดสิ้นไปได้. จบ สมุททชาดกที่ ๖.

ห้วงน้ำใหญ่นี้นั้นจะลดลงหรือเต็มอยู่ก็ตามที ที่สุดของน้ำแห่งห้วงน้ำใหญ่นั้นที่บุคคลดื่มแล้ว ใครๆ ก็รู้ไม่ได้ ได้ยินว่า สาครอันใครๆ ไม่อาจดื่มให้หมดสิ้นไปได้ สมุททชาดกที่ ๖ จบ
