๔. มัจฉชาดก (๓๔) ว่าด้วยพญาปลา (พญาปลาติดข่ายกลัวภรรยาจะเข้าใจผิดและเบียดเบียนเอาจึงคร่ำครวญอยู่ จึงกล่าวว่า)
น มํ สีตํ น มํ อุณฺหํ น มํ ชาลสฺมิ พาธนํ ยญฺจ มํ มญฺญเต มจฺฉี อญฺญํ โส รติยา คโตติ ฯ มจฺฉชาตกํ จตุตฺถํ ฯ ---------
ความเย็น ความร้อน และการติดอยู่ในแห ไม่ได้เบียดเบียนเราให้ได้ รับทุกข์เลย แต่ข้อที่นางปลาสำคัญว่า เราไปหลงนางปลาตัวอื่นนั่นแหละ เบียดเบียนเราให้ได้รับทุกข์. จบ มัจฉชาดกที่ ๔.
ความเย็น ความร้อน และการติดอยู่ในข่าย ไม่ได้เบียดเบียนให้เราได้รับทุกข์ เหมือนเรื่องที่นางปลาเข้าใจเราว่า ไปยินดีนางปลาตัวอื่นเลย มัจฉชาดกที่ ๔ จบ
