ยนฺนิสฺสิตา ชคติรุหํ (วิหงฺคมา) สฺวายํ อคฺคึ ปมุญฺจติ ทิสา ภชถ วงฺกงฺคา ชาตํ สรณโต ภยนฺติ ฯ สกุณชาตกํ ฉฏฺฐํ ฯ ---------
นกทั้งหลายอาศัยต้นไม้ใด ต้นไม้นั้นย่อมทิ้งเอาไฟลงมา นกทั้งหลายจง พากันหนีไปอยู่เสียที่อื่นเถิด ภัยเกิดจากที่พึ่งของพวกเราแล้ว. จบ สกุณชาดกที่ ๖.
นกทั้งหลายอาศัยต้นไม้ใด ต้นไม้นั้นปล่อยไฟออกมา นี่นกทั้งหลาย พวกเธอจงหนีไปยังทิศทั้งหลายเถิด ภัยได้เกิดมีแต่ต้นไม้อันเป็นที่พึ่งของพวกเราสกุณชาดกที่ ๖ จบ
