๙. นันทชาดก (๓๙) ว่าด้วยนายนันททาส (กุฎุมพีโพธิสัตว์เมื่อจะบอกขุมทรัพย์แก่กุมารผู้เป็นลูกของเพื่อน จึงกล่าวว่า)
มญฺเญ โสวณฺณโย ราสิ โสวณฺณมาลา จ นนฺทโก ยตฺถ ทาโส อามชาโต ฐิโต ถุลฺลานิ คชฺชตีติ ฯ นนฺทชาตกํ นวมํ ฯ ---------
ทาสชื่อนันทกะเป็นบุตรของนางทาสี ยืนกล่าวคำหยาบคายในที่ใด เรารู้ ว่ากองแห่งรัตนะทั้งหลาย และดอกไม้ทองมีอยู่ในที่นั้น. จบ นันทชาดกที่ ๙.
ทาสชื่อนันทะ เกิดจากนางทาสี ยืนพูดคำหยาบอยู่ที่ใด เรารู้ว่ามีกองรัตนะและมาลัยทองอยู่ที่นั้น นันทชาดกที่ ๙ จบ @เชิงอรรถ : @ ธรรม ในที่นี้หมายถึงความประพฤติยำเกรงต่อบุคคลผู้เจริญ (ขุ.ชา.อ. ๑/๓๗/๓๒๘)@ ผู้เจริญมี ๓ ประเภท คือ (๑) เจริญโดยชาติ (๒) เจริญโดยวัย (๓) เจริญโดยคุณ (ขุ.ชา.อ. ๑/๓๗/๓๒๘)
