๓. สัจจังกิรชาดก (๗๓) ว่าด้วยความจริงที่ได้ยินมา (พระฤๅษีโพธิสัตว์ไม่คร่ำครวญไม่สะทกสะท้านในที่ตนถูกตีจึงกล่าวว่า)
สจฺจํ กิเรวมาหํสุ นรา เอกจฺจิยา อิธ กฏฺฐํ นิปฺผวิตํ เสยฺโย น เตฺวเวกจฺจิโย นโรติ ฯ สจฺจงฺกิรชาตกํ ตติยํ ฯ ---------
ได้ยินว่า นรชนบางพวกในโลกนี้ ได้กล่าวความจริงไว้อย่างนี้ว่า การ เก็บไม้ที่ลอยน้ำขึ้นมายังดีกว่า ช่วยคนอกตัญญูบางคนขึ้นจากน้ำ ฯ จบ สัจจังกิรชาดกที่ ๓.
ได้ยินว่า คนบางพวกในโลกนี้ ได้กล่าวความจริงไว้อย่างนี้ว่า ไม้ลอยน้ำยังดีกว่า ส่วนคนบางคนที่ประทุษร้ายมิตรไม่ดีเลย สัจจังกิรชาดกที่ ๓ จบ
