๒. มหาสารชาดก (๙๒) ว่าด้วยต้องการคนที่เหมาะสมกับเหตุการณ์ (พระราชาทรงชมเชยพระโพธิสัตว์ผู้เป็นอำมาตย์ว่า)
อุกฺกฏฺเฐ สูรมิจฺฉนฺติ มนฺตีสุ อกุตูหลํ ปิยญฺจ อนฺนปานมฺหิ อตฺเถ ชาเต จ ปณฺฑิตนฺติ ฯ มหาสารชาตกํ ทุติยํ ฯ ---------
เมื่อสงครามเกิดขึ้น ย่อมต้องการคนกล้าหาญ เมื่อเกิดข่าวตื่นเต้นขึ้น ย่อมต้องการคนหนักแน่น เมื่อข้าวและน้ำมีบริบูรณ์ ย่อมต้องการคนที่รัก เมื่อข้อความลึกซึ้งเกิดขึ้น ย่อมต้องการบัณฑิต. จบ มหาสารชาดกที่ ๒.
เมื่อถึงยามคับขันประชาชนต้องการผู้กล้าหาญ เมื่อถึงคราวปรึกษางานต้องการผู้ที่ไม่พูดพล่าม ยามมีข้าวน้ำต้องการผู้เป็นที่รัก ยามเกิดปัญหาต้องการบัณฑิต มหาสารชาดกที่ ๒ จบ
