เมื่อพระผู้มีพระภาคพระนามว่า โกณฑัญญะ ผู้ประเสริฐกว่าโลก คงที่ ทรงช่วยสัตว์ให้ข้ามวัฏสงสาร เสด็จพระดำเนินไปที่ถนน ดิฉันออกจากเรือนแล้วนอนคว่ำหน้า ครั้งนั้น สมเด็จพระโลกเชษฐ ผู้ทรงพระกรุณา ได้เสด็จเหยียบไปบนศีรษะดิฉัน ครั้นแล้ว พระองค์ ก็ได้เสด็จเลยไป ดิฉันได้ไปสวรรค์ชั้นดุสิต ก็เพราะจิตเลื่อมใสนั้น ดิฉันเผากิเลสทั้งหลายแล้ว .... พระพุทธศาสนาดิฉันได้ทำเสร็จแล้ว. ทราบว่า ท่านพระสังกมนทาภิกษุณีได้กล่าวคาถาเหล่านี้ ด้วยประการฉะนี้แล. จบ สังกมนทาเถริยาปทาน.
