สำหรับกิจการบางประเภทและหรือบางขนาดซึ่งผู้ประกอบการ จดทะเบียนเป็นบุคคลธรรมดาอาจตราพระราชกฤษฎีกากำหนดให้ผู้ประกอบการจดทะเบียนยื่นแบบ แสดงรายการภาษีและชำระภาษีตามช่วงเวลาภาษี โดยให้แต่ละช่วงเวลาภาษีมีกำหนดไม่เกินสาม เดือนก็ได้ และเพื่อประโยชน์ในการคำนวณภาษีมูลค่าเพิ่มสำหรับกิจการตามวรรคหนึ่ง ให้ถือว่า ช่วงเวลาภาษีแต่ละช่วงตามที่กำหนดในพระราชกฤษฎีกาเป็นเดือนภาษีสำหรับกิจการนั้น ๆ
