ในกฎกระทรวงนี้ “หน่วยบริการอาชีวเวชกรรม” หมายความว่า สถานบริการสาธารณสุข หน่วยงานหรือหน่วยบริการ ด้านสุขภาพที่ดำเนินการภายในสถานประกอบกิจการ หรือองค์กรที่ให้บริการด้านอาชีวเวชกรรม ซึ่งได้ขึ้นทะเบียนเพื่อให้บริการอาชีวเวชกรรม “แพทย์” หมายความว่า ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพเวชกรรมตามกฎหมายว่าด้วยวิชาชีพเวชกรรม “พยาบาล” หมายความว่า ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพการพยาบาลและผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพการพยาบาล และการผดุงครรภ์ตามกฎหมายว่าด้วยวิชาชีพการพยาบาลและการผดุงครรภ์
