การกำหนดขนาดของพื้นที่และสัดส่วนการใช้ประโยชน์ภายในพื้นที่ป่าชุมชน ต้องคำนึงถึงสภาพภูมิประเทศ ขนาดของชุมชน และศักยภาพของชุมชนที่มีความสามารถในการจัดการ ป่าชุมชนด้วย การกำหนดขนาดของพื้นที่ป่าชุมชนและสัดส่วนการใช้ประโยชน์ภายในพื้นที่ป่าชุมชนตามวรรคหนึ่ง ให้เป็นไปตามระเบียบที่ออกตามมาตรา ๓๑ วรรคสอง แห่งพระราชบัญญัติป่าชุมชน พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๒
