ให้ข้าราชการรัฐสภาสามัญตำแหน่งเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจรัฐสภาทำหน้าที่รักษา ความสงบเรียบร้อยและรักษาความปลอดภัยบุคคลและทรัพย์สินภายในบริเวณรัฐสภา ในการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ตามวรรคหนึ่ง ให้เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจรัฐสภาเป็นเจ้าพนักงานตามประมวล กฎหมายอาญา และให้มีอำนาจและหน้าที่เช่นเดียวกับพนักงานฝ่ายปกครองหรือตำรวจตามประมวล กฎหมายวิธีพิจารณาความอาญาภายในบริเวณรัฐสภา
