เมื่อผู้ประกอบการตรวจสอบมาตรฐานได้รับคำขอ พร้อมทั้งเอกสารและหลักฐาน ถูกต้องและครบถ้วนแล้ว ให้ดำเนินการตรวจสอบมาตรฐานสินค้าเกษตรนั้นทันที เว้นแต่มีผู้ยื่นคำขอ หลายราย ให้ดำเนินการตรวจสอบตามลำดับที่ยื่นคำขอ เพื่อประโยชน์ในการตรวจสอบมาตรฐานสินค้าเกษตรที่นำเข้า ผู้ประกอบการตรวจสอบ มาตรฐานอาจไปตรวจสอบ ณ สถานที่ผลิตสินค้าเกษตรนั้นในต่างประเทศ ในกรณีที่มีการตรวจสอบ ณ สถานที่ผลิตสินค้าเกษตรในต่างประเทศตามวรรคสอง พนักงาน เจ้าหน้าที่อาจไปตรวจประเมินวิธีการตรวจสอบมาตรฐานในต่างประเทศของผู้ประกอบการตรวจสอบ มาตรฐานได้ โดยผู้ประกอบการตรวจสอบมาตรฐานเป็นผู้เสียค่าใช้จ่ายให้แก่พนักงานเจ้าหน้าที่ เลม่ ๑๓๗ ตอนที่ ๒๐ ก หนา้ ๒
