ในระหว่างที่ยังมิได้เปิดทำการศาลแขวงเชียงรายตามมาตรา ๔ ให้ศาลจังหวัด เชียงรายมีเขตอำนาจตลอดถึงเขตอำนาจของศาลแขวงเชียงรายด้วย
