ให้รัฐมนตรีมีอำนาจหน้าที่กำกับดูแลการดำเนินกิจการของสำนักงานให้เป็นไปตาม กฎหมาย และให้สอดคล้องกับวัตถุประสงค์ของการจัดตั้งสำนักงาน นโยบายของรัฐบาล และมติของ คณะรัฐมนตรีที่เกี่ยวกับสำนักงาน เพื่อการนี้ให้รัฐมนตรีมีอำนาจสั่งให้สำนักงานชี้แจงแสดงความคิดเห็น ทำรายงาน หรือยับยั้งการกระทำของสำนักงานที่ขัดต่อวัตถุประสงค์ของการจัดตั้งสำนักงาน นโยบาย ของรัฐบาล หรือมติของคณะรัฐมนตรีที่เกี่ยวกับสำนักงาน ตลอดจนสั่งสอบสวนข้อเท็จจริงเกี่ยวกับ การดำเนินการของสำนักงานได้
