กองทุนประกอบด้วย
(๑) เงินอุดหนุนที่รัฐบาลจัดสรรให้จากงบประมาณรายจ่ายประจำปี
(๒) เงินหรือทรัพย์สินที่มีผู้บริจาคให้
(๓) เงินหรือทรัพย์สินที่ได้มาในกิจการของสถาบัน
(๔) เงินค่าปรับทางปกครองตามพระราชบัญญัตินี้
(๕) เงินที่ได้จากหน่วยงานของรัฐ หรือกองทุนอื่นที่มีวัตถุประสงค์หรือเกี่ยวข้องกับ การจัดบริการด้านสาธารณสุขหรือการแพทย์
(๖) เงินสมทบอื่นตามที่กฎหมายบัญญัติ
(๗) ดอกผลหรือผลประโยชน์ที่เกิดจากเงินหรือทรัพย์สินตาม (๑) (๒) (๓) (๔) (๕) และ (๖)
