ในกรมส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ ให้มีกลุ่มตรวจสอบภายใน เพื่อทำหน้าที่หลักในการตรวจสอบ การดำเนินงานภายในกรม และสนับสนุนการปฏิบัติงานของกรม รับผิดชอบงานขึ้นตรงต่ออธิบดี โดยมีหน้าที่และอำนาจ ดังต่อไปนี้
(๑) ดำเนินการเกี่ยวกับการตรวจสอบด้านการบริหาร การเงิน และการบัญชีของกรม
(๒) ปฏิบัติงานร่วมกับหรือสนับสนุนการปฏิบัติงานของหน่วยงานอื่นที่เกี่ยวข้องหรือที่อธิบดี มอบหมาย
