กึสุ สพฺพํ อนฺธภวิ กิสฺมา ภิยฺโย น วิชฺชติ กิสฺสสฺส เอกธมฺมสฺส สพฺเพว วสมนฺวคูติ ฯ
เทวดาทูลถามว่า อะไรหนอครอบงำสิ่งทั้งปวง สิ่งทั้งปวงที่ยิ่งขึ้นไปกว่าสิ่งอะไร ย่อมไม่มี สิ่งทั้งปวงเป็นไปตามอำนาจของธรรมอันหนึ่งคือ อะไร ฯ
เทวดาทูลถามว่า อะไรเล่าครอบงำสิ่งทั้งปวง อะไรเล่าไม่มีสิ่งทั้งปวงยิ่งกว่า อะไรเล่าเป็นธรรมอย่างหนึ่งที่สิ่งทั้งปวงตกอยู่ในอำนาจ พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสตอบว่า ชื่อครอบงำสิ่งทั้งปวง ชื่อไม่มีสิ่งทั้งปวงยิ่งกว่า ชื่อเป็นธรรมอย่างหนึ่งที่สิ่งทั้งปวงตกอยู่ในอำนาจนามสูตรที่ ๑ จบ
