เกนสฺสุ นียติ โลโก เกนสฺสุ ปริกิสฺสติ กิสฺสสฺส เอกธมฺมสฺส สพฺเพว วสมนฺวคูติ ฯ
เทวดาทูลถามว่า โลกอันอะไรหนอย่อมนำไป อันอะไรหนอย่อมเสือกไสไป โลกทั้งหมดเป็นไปตามอำนาจของธรรมอันหนึ่งคืออะไร ฯ
เทวดาทูลถามว่า โลกถูกอะไรนำไป ถูกอะไรผลักไสไป อะไรเล่าเป็นธรรมอย่างหนึ่งที่โลกทั้งหมดตกอยู่ในอำนาจ พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสตอบว่า โลกถูกตัณหานำไป ถูกตัณหาผลักไสไป ตัณหาเป็นธรรมอย่างหนึ่งที่โลกทั้งหมดตกอยู่ในอำนาจตัณหาสูตรที่ ๓ จบ
