๔. อาสวปหานสูตร ว่าด้วยการละอาสวะ
กถํ นุ โข ภนฺเต ชานโต กถํ ปสฺสโต อาสวา ปหียนฺตีติ ฯเปฯ จตุตฺถํ ฯ
ภิ. ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ เมื่อบุคคลรู้อยู่อย่างไร เห็นอยู่อย่างไร จึงจะละอาสวะได้ ฯลฯ จบสูตรที่ ๔
ภิกษุทั้งหลายได้ทูลถามพระผู้มีพระภาคดังนี้ว่า “ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญบุคคลเมื่อรู้เห็นอย่างไรจึงจะละอาสวะ ได้” ฯลฯ อาสวปหานสูตรที่ ๔ จบ ๕. อาสวสมุคฆาตสูตร ว่าด้วยการถอนอาสวะ
ภิกษุทั้งหลายได้ทูลถามพระผู้มีพระภาคดังนี้ว่า “ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ บุคคลเมื่อรู้เห็นอย่างไรจึงจะถอนอาสวะได้” ฯลฯ อาสวสมุคฆาตสูตรที่ ๕ จบ @เชิงอรรถ : @ อาสวะ ในที่นี้ได้แก่ อาสวะ ๔ (กามาสวะ อาสวะคือกาม, ภวาสวะ อาสวะคือภพ, ทิฏฐาสวะ@อาสวะคือทิฏฐิ, อวิชชาสวะ อาสวะคืออวิชชา) (สํ.สฬา.อ. ๓/๕๓-๖๒/๑๔)
