ฯเปฯ อาสวา สมุคฺฆาตํ คจฺฉนฺตีติ ฯเปฯ ปญฺจมํ ฯ
ภิ. ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ เมื่อบุคคลรู้อยู่อย่างไร เห็นอยู่อย่างไร อาสวะจึงจะถึงความเพิกถอน ฯลฯ จบสูตรที่ ๕
ภิกษุทั้งหลายได้ทูลถามพระผู้มีพระภาคดังนี้ว่า “ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ บุคคลเมื่อรู้เห็นอย่างไรจึงจะถอนอาสวะได้” ฯลฯ อาสวสมุคฆาตสูตรที่ ๕ จบ @เชิงอรรถ : @ อาสวะ ในที่นี้ได้แก่ อาสวะ ๔ (กามาสวะ อาสวะคือกาม, ภวาสวะ อาสวะคือภพ, ทิฏฐาสวะ@อาสวะคือทิฏฐิ, อวิชชาสวะ อาสวะคืออวิชชา) (สํ.สฬา.อ. ๓/๕๓-๖๒/๑๔)
