สาวตฺถีนิทานํ ฯ ตโยเม ภิกฺขเว ภวา ฯ กตเม ตโย ฯ กามภโว รูปภโว อรูปภโว ฯ อิเม โข ภิกฺขเว ตโย ภวา ฯ
สาวัตถีนิทาน. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภพ ๓ อย่างนี้ ๓ อย่างเป็นไฉน? คือ กามภพ ๑ รูปภพ ๑ อรูปภพ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภพ ๓ อย่างนี้แล.
“ภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภพ ๓ ประการนี้ ภพ ๓ ประการ อะไรบ้าง คือ
