สาวตฺถีนิทานํ ฯ ติสฺโส อิมา ภิกฺขเว ทุกฺขตา ฯ กตมา ติสฺโส ฯ ทุกฺขทุกฺขตา สงฺขารทุกฺขตา วิปริณามทุกฺขตา ฯ อิมา โข ภิกฺขเว ติสฺโส ทุกฺขตา ฯ
สาวัตถีนิทาน. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ความเป็นทุกข์ ๓ อย่างนี้ ๓ อย่างเป็นไฉน? คือ ความเป็นทุกข์เกิดจากความไม่สบายกาย ๑ ความเป็นทุกข์เกิดจากสังขาร ๑ ความเป็นทุกข์เกิดจากความแปรปรวน ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ความเป็นทุกข์ ๓ อย่างนี้แล.
“ภิกษุทั้งหลาย สภาวทุกข์ ๓ ประการนี้ สภาวทุกข์ ๓ ประการ อะไรบ้าง คือ ๑. สภาวทุกข์คือทุกข์ ๒. สภาวทุกข์คือสังขาร ๓. สภาวทุกข์คือความแปรผันไป สภาวทุกข์ ๓ ประการนี้ ภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุพึงเจริญอริยมรรคมีองค์ ๘ เพื่อรู้ยิ่ง เพื่อกำหนดรู้เพื่อความสิ้นไป เพื่อละสภาวทุกข์ทั้ง ๓ ประการนี้ ฯลฯ ภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุพึงเจริญอริยมรรคมีองค์ ๘ นี้ ฯลฯ ทุกขตาสูตรที่ ๕ จบ
อิมาสํ โข ภิกฺขเว ติสฺสนฺนํ ทุกฺขตานํ อภิญฺญาย ปริญฺญาย ปริกฺขยาย ปหานาย ฯเปฯ อยํ อริโย อฏฺฐงฺคิโก มคฺโค ภาเวตพฺโพติ ฯ
