๓. โคสาลเถรคาถา ภาษิตของพระโคสาลเถระ ทราบว่า ท่านพระโคสาลเถระได้กล่าวคาถาไว้ดังนี้ว่า
|๑๖๐.๒๓| ๓ อหํ โข เวฬุคุมฺพสฺมึ ภุตฺวาน มธุปายาสํ ปทกฺขิณํ สมฺมสนฺโต ขนฺธานํ อุทยพฺพยํ สานุํ ปฏิคฺคมิสฺสามิ วิเวกมนุพฺรูหยนฺติ ฯ โคสาโล เถโร ฯ
เราฉันข้าวมธุปายาสที่พุ่มกอไผ่แล้ว พิจารณาความเกิดและความเสื่อม ไปแห่งขันธ์ทั้งหลายโดยความเคารพ จักกลับไปสู่สานุบรรพตที่เรา เคยอยู่มาแล้ว เจริญวิเวกต่อไป.
