๘. อัชชุนเถรคาถา ภาษิตของพระอัชชุนเถระ ทราบว่า ท่านพระอัชชุนเถระได้กล่าวคาถาไว้ดังนี้ว่า
|๒๒๕.๘๘| ๘ อสกฺขึ วต อตฺตานํ อุทฺธาตุํ อุทกา ถลํ วุยฺหมาโน มโหโฆว สจฺจานิ ปฏิวิชฺฌหนฺติ อชฺชุโน เถโร ฯ
เราอาจยกตนจากน้ำ คือ กิเลส ขึ้นบนบกคือนิพพานได้ เหมือนคนที่ถูก ห้วงน้ำใหญ่พัดไปแล้ว ยกตนขึ้นจากน้ำฉะนั้น เราแทงตลอดสัจจะ ทั้งหลายแล้ว.
เราสามารถยกตนจากห้วงน้ำใหญ่คือสงสาร ขึ้นสู่บกคือนิพพาน ได้ เหมือนคนที่ถูกพัดพาไปในห้วงน้ำใหญ่ช่วยขึ้นฝั่งได้ เราได้รู้แจ้งตลอดอริยสัจ ๔ แล้ว
