ภิกษุหนุ่มรูปใดแล เพียรพยายามอยู่ในพระพุทธศาสนา ก็เมื่อสัตว์ ทั้งหลายนอกนี้พากันหลับแล้ว ภิกษุหนุ่มนั้นตื่นอยู่ ชีวิตของเธอไม่ไร้ ประโยชน์ เพราะฉะนั้น บุคคลผู้มีปัญญาระลึกถึงคำสอนของพระพุทธ- เจ้าทั้งหลาย พึงประกอบศรัทธา ศีล ความเลื่อมใส และการเห็นธรรม เนืองๆ เถิด
ภิกษุใดแลยังหนุ่มแน่น ประกอบความขวนขวายในพระพุทธศาสนา ผู้ตื่นอยู่ ในเมื่อคนเหล่าอื่นหลับแล้ว ชื่อว่าไม่ไร้ผล
เพราะฉะนั้น ภิกษุผู้มีปัญญา ระลึกถึงคำสอนของพระพุทธเจ้าทั้งหลาย จึงควรประกอบศรัทธา ศีล ความเลื่อมใส และการเห็นธรรมเนืองๆ @เชิงอรรถ : @ หยั่งรู้อุปาทานขันธ์ คือ ขันธ์ที่อาศัยความยึดมั่นถือมั่น (ขุ.เถร.อ. ๑/๒๐๒/๕๐๑)@ มหากัปที่ผ่านไปนานจนไม่สามารถนับได้ (ขุ.เถร.อ. ๑/๒๐๒/๕๐๑)
