พระสุตตันตปิฎก ขุททกนิกาย ชาดก [๑. เอกกนิบาต] ๑๑. ปโรสตวรรค ๘. พาหิยชาดก (๑๐๘) ๖. อุทัญจนีชาดก (๑๐๖) ว่าด้วยนางอุทัญจนี (ดาบสผู้เป็นบุตรของพระโพธิสัตว์อดทนต่อการเคี่ยวเข็ญของนางอุทัญจนี ไม่ไหวหนีไปหาบิดาแล้ว จึงกล่าวว่า)
สุขํ วต มํ ชีวนฺตํ ปจมานา อุทญฺจนี โจรี ชายปฺปวาเทน เตลํ โลณญฺจ ยาจตีติ ฯ อุทญฺจนีชาตกํ ฉฏฺฐํ ฯ
หญิงโจรผู้นำของไปด้วยหม้อน้ำ เบียดเบียนฉัน ผู้เคยมีชีวิตอยู่เป็นสุข จะขอน้ำมัน หรือเกลือ ก็ด้วยการกล่าวคำอ่อนหวานฐานเป็นภรรยา. จบ อุทัญจนีชาดกที่ ๖.
นางโจรชื่ออุทัญจนีเบียดเบียนข้าพเจ้า ผู้อยู่อย่างสบายให้เดือดร้อน เพราะเรียกตนเองว่าเป็นภรรยาจึงร้องขอน้ำมันและเกลืออุทัญจนีชาดกที่ ๖ จบ
