๙. เอกปัณณชาดก (๑๔๙) ว่าด้วยต้นไม้มีด้านละใบ (ทุฏฐราชกุมารเข้าใจต้นสะเดาว่าจะฆ่ามนุษย์ได้ จึงถอนหน่อสะเดา ขยี้จนแหลกแล้ว ตรัสว่า)
เอกปณฺโณ อยํ รุกฺโข น ภูมฺยา จตุรงฺคุโล ผเลน วิสกปฺเปน มหายํ กึ ภวิสฺสตีติ ฯ เอกปณฺณชาตกํ นวมํ ฯ ---------
ต้นไม้นี้มีเพียงใบเดียว จากพื้นสูงไม่เกิน ๔ นิ้ว ยังมีรสเช่นกับยาพิษ ต้นไม้นี้เติบโตขึ้นจักขมสักเพียงไหน?จบ เอกปัณณชาดกที่ ๙.
ต้นไม้นี้มีใบด้านละใบ จากพื้นดินสูงยังไม่ถึง ๔ องคุลี ผลมีรสเช่นกับยาพิษ เมื่อโตขึ้นจะเป็นเช่นไรหนอ เอกปัณณชาดกที่ ๙ จบ
