อกิลาสุโน วณฺณุปเถ ขณนฺตา อุทงฺคเณ ตตฺถ ปปํ อวินฺทุํ เอวํ มุนิ วีริยพลูปปนฺโน อกิลาสุ วินฺเท หทยสฺส สนฺตินฺติ ฯ วณฺณุปถชาตกํ ทุติยํ ฯ
ชนทั้งหลายผู้ไม่เกียจคร้าน ขุดภาคพื้นที่ทางทราย ได้พบน้ำในทางนั้น ณ ที่ราบ ฉันใด มุนีผู้ประกอบด้วยความเพียรและกำลัง เป็นผู้ไม่ เกียจคร้าน พึงได้ความสงบใจ ฉันนั้น. จบ วัณณุปถชาดกที่ ๒.
ชนทั้งหลายผู้ไม่เกียจคร้าน ขุดภาคพื้นที่หนทางกลางทะเลทราย ได้พบน้ำที่กลางทะเลทรายอันราบเรียบ ฉันใด มุนีผู้ประกอบด้วยความเพียรและกำลัง ไม่เกียจคร้าน พึงประสบความสงบใจ ฉันนั้น วัณณุปถชาดกที่ ๒ จบ
