สฐสฺส สาเฐยฺยมิทํ สุจินฺติตํ ปจฺโจฑฺฑิตํ ปฏิกูฏสฺส กูฏํ ผาลํ เจ ขาเทยฺยุํ มูสิกา กสฺมา กุมารํ กุลลา โน หเรยฺยุํ ฯ
ท่านได้คิดอุบายตอบอุบายดีแล้ว ได้คิดโกงตอบผู้โกงดีแล้ว ถ้าหนู ทั้งหลายพึงกินผาลได้ เหตุไฉน เหยี่ยวทั้งหลายจะเฉี่ยวเด็กไปไม่ได้เล่า?
กูฏสฺส หิ สนฺติ กูฏกูฏา ภวติ ปโร นิกติโน นิกตฺยา เทหิ ปุตฺตนฏฺฐ ผาลนฏฺฐสฺส ผาลํ มา เต ปุตฺตมหาสิ ผาลนฏฺโฐติ ฯ กูฏวาณิชชาตกํ อฏฺฐมํ ฯ ---------
บุคคลที่โกงตอบคนโกง ย่อมมีอยู่แน่นอน บุคคลที่ล่อลวงก็ย่อมมีอยู่ เหมือนกัน ดูกรท่านผู้มีบุตรหาย ท่านจักไม่ให้ผาลแก่เขา บุรุษผู้มีผาล หาย ก็จะไม่นำบุตรมาให้แก่ท่าน. จบ กูฏวาณิชชาดกที่ ๘.
