นเม นมนฺตสฺส ภเช ภชนฺตํ กิจฺจานุกุพฺพสฺส กเรยฺย กิจฺจํ นานตฺถกามสฺส กเรยฺย อตฺถํ อสมฺภชนฺตมฺปิ น สมฺภเชยฺย ฯ
บุคคลควรนอบน้อมต่อผู้ที่นอบน้อมตน ควรคบกับผู้ที่คบตน ควรทำกิจ ตอบแทนแก่ผู้ที่ช่วยทำกิจของตน ไม่ควรทำประโยชน์แก่ผู้ปรารถนาความ ฉิบหายให้ และไม่ควรคบกับผู้ที่ไม่คบตน.
จเช จชนฺตํ วนถํ น กยิรา อเปตจิตฺเตน น สมฺภเชยฺย ทิโช ทุมํ ขีณผลํว ญตฺวา อญฺญํ สเมกฺเขยฺย มหา หิ โลโกติ ฯ ปุฏภตฺตชาตกํ ตติยํ ฯ ---------
บุคคลควรละทิ้งผู้ที่ละทิ้งตน ไม่ควรทำความอาลัยรักใคร่ในบุคคลเช่นนั้น ไม่ควรสมาคมกับผู้ที่เขาไม่ใฝ่ใจกับตน นกรู้ว่า ต้นไม้หมดผลแล้วก็ละทิ้ง ไปหาต้นไม้อื่น เพราะโลกเป็นของกว้างใหญ่. จบ ปุฏภัตตชาดกที่ ๓.

บุคคลควรนอบน้อมแก่ผู้ที่นอบน้อม ควรคบผู้ที่คบด้วย ควรทำกิจแก่ผู้ที่ช่วยทำกิจ ไม่ควรทำสิ่งที่เป็นประโยชน์ให้แก่ ผู้ปรารถนาสิ่งที่ไม่เป็นประโยชน์ และไม่ควรคบแม้ผู้ที่ไม่ประสงค์จะคบด้วย
ควรละทิ้งผู้ที่ละทิ้ง และไม่ควรทำความเยื่อใย ไม่ควรคบกับผู้มีจิตใจเหินห่าง ควรมองหาผู้อื่น(ที่มีความเยื่อใย) เหมือนนกรู้ว่า ต้นไม้นี้หมดผลแล้วไปยังต้นไม้อื่น เพราะว่าโลกกว้างใหญ่ ปุฏภัตตชาดกที่ ๓ จบ
