โย อตฺถกามสฺส หิตานุกมฺปิโน โอวชฺชมาโน น กโรติ สาสนํ กโปตกสฺส วจนํ อกตฺวา อมิตฺตหตฺถตฺโตว เสตีติ ฯ กโปตกชาตกํ ทุติยํ ฯ ---------
ผู้ใดบุคคลกล่าวสอนอยู่ ไม่ทำตามคำสอนของผู้ปรารถนาประโยชน์ ผู้ อนุเคราะห์ด้วยประโยชน์เกื้อกูล ผู้นั้นย่อมถึงความฉิบหาย เศร้าโศกอยู่ เหมือนกาไม่เชื่อฟังคำของนกพิราบ ตกอยู่ในเงื้อมมือของข้าศึก ฉะนั้น. จบ กโปตกชาดกที่ ๒.
ผู้ใดอันบุคคลผู้หวังความเจริญ อนุเคราะห์ด้วยประโยชน์เกื้อกูล กล่าวสอนอยู่ ก็ไม่ทำตามคำสั่งสอน ผู้นั้นย่อมเศร้าโศกอยู่ร่ำไป เหมือนกาไม่ทำตามคำของนกพิราบตกอยู่ในเงื้อมมือของศัตรูกโปตกชาดกที่ ๒ จบ
